BALLSTON SPA, NY – Irish 2000 Music & Arts Festival returns September 15th at the Saratoga County Fairgrounds. It marks the 21st Anniversary of this popular event and attendees can look forward to the great entertainment, crafts and food and drink they have come to expect from Irish 2000.
This year the Festival is going back to it’s roots in a number of ways. Instead of having a small show Friday night, it will all be in one BIG day on Saturday. The festival has also LOWERED ticket prices to ensure savings for families.
The gates open Saturday at 11am and it runs till 11pm. Discount tickets are available at any Price Chopper location with their Ticket To Go program. Advance sale tickets are just $16 (get $1 off with the Price Chopper card). You can also purchase advance sale discounted tickets through PayPal. Tickets at the gate are $20. As always, kids 12 and under get in free!
This year’s lineup of entertainment offers some of the very best international and local talent.
- Brother’s Flynn, Emish, Get Up Jack, Hair of the Dog, McKrells, Narrowbacks, Off Kilter, Screaming Orphans, Searson, Shilelagh Law, The Druids, and Who’s Your Paddy
- There will also be performances by the Schenectady Pipe Band and the Farrell School of Irish Dance
- In addition, there is a Celtic Kids area with rides from Green Mountain Amusements.
ABOUT THE ORGANIZERS
The not-for-profit Irish Music and Arts Festival, Inc. organizes the annual festival. The goal of the organization is, “To preserve, protect and promote Irish history and culture in the 21st century.” In addition to producing the festival, Irish 2000 also supports other non-profit organizations. Since its inception, the festival has donated more than $350,000 to a variety of charities.
